Get ready for some candy coloured eye shadows that are super easy to apply! The latest favourites in my shadow collection are the Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow tints for eyes. Which are no surprise since I love the Clinique Chubby lip colour balms.
The ease and portable convenience of these colourful pencils make the perfect travel addition to any upcoming vacations.
Apply directly from the pencil & use your fingers to smudge or an eye shadow brush.
Here I just used my fingers for a quick application.
Using shades:

Skincare must-have: Hydraluron

hydraluron indeed laboratories photo IMG_15261_zpse8c14084.jpg

If there is only one skincare product you must add to your arsenal it's Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron. Remember the name and you will thank me later! Why? Most of us have dehydrated skin, even those with oily skin types. Dehydration is from a lack of water and not oil.
Top three reasons for dehydrated skin:
aging, environmental factors, and lifestyle.
Really it's quite simple; hydrate your skin and your skin will be properly nourished and look more radiant.
hydraluron photo IMG_15311_zpsa6ef56a5.jpg
Working as a flight attendant is not the best job for my skin so any product that can add an extra moisture factor without the oiliness is a bonus.

How Hydraluron works?
Its a simple serum with powerful ingredients. The #1 being Hyaluronic Acid which is an ingredient that can hold up to 1,000x its weight in water. A fire hydrant which has gone off on your face! Awesome right? As we age our body produces less hyaluronic acid which is why our skin looks less plump and radiant.
hydraluron closeup photo IMG_15301_zpse6d6bb24.jpg
Apply a small amount of serum to face before your regular moisturizer for an added boost or for those oilier skin types alone under makeup. Clear, gel-like serum, and fragrance-free! Absorbs easy, can get slightly tacky feeling which means you applied too much!
There is no need to change your current skincare regime if it's working for you. Just by adding Hydraluron you'll notice a difference in your skin.
Don't believe me (why wouldn't you) just do a google search...it's a huge hit in the U.K.

Available in Canada exclusively to Shoppers Drug Mart
30ml for retail $23.99

Travel Tuesdays: On the Go beauty essentials

Travel Essentials

If you search my uniform blazer you'd find countless beauty products hiding in every little pocket! The life of a Flight Attendant, so many flights and so many beauty essentials we're able to jam into our uniform and luggage. However, I have to admit that for a beauty blogger I go pretty au naturale for work. Once I make up my face before a shift I can't be bothered to re-apply makeup throughout the flight. Therefore, from my makeup kit in my luggage to my pockets and purse I carry enough makeup to do make-overs on all the passengers. Seriously, I don't know why I carry all these items I end up with the same "5-minute" face. But there are just a few products that I do reapply: the basics.

Lip products: I tend to stick to hydrating lipbalms and hate to reapply dark lips as I'm always drinking water. So, depending on the aircraft model and horrid in-flight lighting I will apply a berry stained lip to add colour to my ghost-like appearance. Faves: Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant & Clinique Chubby Stick Lip Colour Balm

Face Powder: although airplanes can be dehydrating I can get a little oily in the t-zone. My all-time favourite powder is the Makeup Forever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Finish Foundation

Hand Creams: I love hand creams for in-flight! The water & soap on the aircraft wrecks my hands & turns them dry and rough. Constantly using different brands as I use them so much. Currently loving Live Clean Replenishing Hand Cream with Argan Oil

What beauty essentials do you use at work?

Maternity Mondays: Stretch Mark Prevention

stretch mark reviews

Those pesky light skinned lines that every woman hates, nobody likes stretch marks. Of course prevention is not always successful in any pregnancy but if I could do my part in atleast preventing just a few marks I'll be a happy mommy. Realistically, it's going to happen! Have you seen a women at nine months and the size of her belly? No way there's no stretch marks I don't care how much you slather yourself in potions. And its not just the belly; breasts, arms, back, legs (I've been told). Now, of course if I didn't think I could somewhat prevent just the severity of the mark and perhaps a few streaks than I wouldn't bother with all of the creams. But thus far I think I've succeeded...of course I won't know for certain till the baby is here. Here is a review of the "potions" I've been testing out.

Live Clean Baby & Mommy Bath and Message Oil
A light weight oil that glides and moisturizer amazingly. Contains: safflower oil, oat kernel oil, Vitamin E and aloe, chamomile, Lavender botanicals  Free of: parabans, petroleum, phthalate, and phosphates.  Basically, I use this everywhere as a moisturizer concentrating more on the belly and breast area. Use this 2x a day, morning and night. retail $6.99

Hydra Mar Stretch Mark Cream
A light lotion containing: arnica montana flower, Vitamin E, cannabis sativa seed oil, squalane, and Vitamin C. I don't find this hydrating enough and apply this after my oils. I also apply on areas I already have stretch marks. Haven't noticed any significant difference but will continue to use until finished but not my favourite. Like the scent! Found this at Winners (discount store in Canada) sale $8.99

LOVE MY...Body Butter
This is an all natural body balm containing all raw organic ingredients; shea, vitamin e, cocoa butter, avocado butter, coconut oil, and argan oil. It's a multi-purpose item and not just for pregnant belly. Love the way it emulsifies between the fingers making it an easy to apply oil. I will definitely use this for my entire pregnancy because of the feel and organic ingredients. $15 for 60ml to purchase contact: evatheresestudios@hotmail.com

Drugstore Favourites {Spring 2013}

drugstore favourites

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup
Love this drugstore foundation! An impulse buy that proved successful. Medium coverage, non-greasy, leaves skin looking flawless. Best way to apply is with a beauty blender sponge, fingers work too but I find the finish with the sponge is the best. Very creamy formula but doesn't feel heavy on the skin. Texture is like whipped cream! Shade #250 Medium Beige, hard to see the shade in-store so hopefully testers are available where you shop.

L Oréal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream
Another impulse buy that proved successful. Not a typical BB cream texture; pigments are in beads suspended in a milky lotion that once applied transform into colour. Slightly darker than I'd typically like but spread evenly and lightly works. Not as dewy as other BB creams so those with oilier skin-types will appreciate the finish. Shade Medium

Covergirl + OLAY Concealer Balm
Creamy concealer in a lipstick style applicator, easy to apply! I prefer this as a blemish or spot cover-up due to its creamy consistency. Shade #330 light pale will be too dark for those fair skinned ladies as I found this to be yellow based and perfect for my medium skin tone.

Marcelle Instant Volume Mascara
Amazing mascara if you want full lashes! Has a twist applicator but I just leave in the long setting. The shorter setting is for more volume but didn't notice a significant difference in fullness, either way love the brush!

What are you currently loving from the beauty aisle in the drugstore?

Anne Hathaway goes Blonde!

Do blondes really have more fun? As a brunette can't attest to the blonde theory. Anne Hathaway stepped out as a blonde tonight at the 2013 MET Gala, as for the blondes have more fun... guess time will tell if Anne keeps the look. Admittedly I'm loving the bottle blonde look on Anne, gives her an edge.
Celebrity hairstylist Sascha Breuer for Wella Professionals decided to change up Anne's hair and give her an edgier look but going even further with the blonde
“Drawing inspiration from unforgettable punk icons like Poly Styrene from X-ray Spex and Joan Jett, I decided to go for a look that's glam, edgy and yet very youthful and fun. We kept the style much shorter for Anne and had a lot of fun playing around with it. To enhance her punk look further we decided to take her hair to the next level: A new cool Platinum blonde color and the sharp slightly boyish finish with loads of texture were the perfect match,” says Sascha Breuer.

If you're not as brave to go platinum blonde perhaps the styling will suffice.

Step-By-Step Styling
1. Start by applying a golf ball sized amount of Wella Professionals Extra Volume Mousseto damp hair for the perfect foundation and to provide hold and volume.
2. Blow dry the hair into shape using your fingers or a skeleton brush. Dry the longer hair on top back and upwards by gently pulling the hair away from the scalp to boost the volume and some lift to it.
3. Push brush and dry the sides flat to the head backwards allowing them to set narrow to the head.
4. Once the hair is completely dry use a small amount of Wella Professionals Bold Movestyling paste. Spread the paste evenly between the palm of your hands and work the product through the mid length and ends to create a deep, slightly messy texture.
5. Mist hair with Wella Professionals Stay Firm Finishing Spray to ensure that your style will last all night.

What do you think of Anne Hathaway's new look?

Opps I did again! {blogging}

(pre-made template by the lovely Blair from Designs by Leap)

Blame it on the pregnancy hormones but I changed my template (again).
After much consideration I decided that I needed to simplify things around here,
and I love the editorial look of blogs & therefore felt it was necessary for a change.
It has been met with resistance from friends and readers who loved the pink/white stripes and chandelier look of my previous two templates but I just felt that I had to go with my gut instinct this time.
And loving the crisp, clean, streamlined look of the latest version of Beauty Parler.

Recycle & Re-use: maternity wear

Recycle and Re-use clothing? A big yes! Especially maternity wear. Now that I am four months pregnant and not fitting into my regular clothing time to go shopping. But wait, before you spend a fortune on new clothing that in reality you'll only be wearing for another five months ask friends if they're willing to donate any of their old maternity pieces.
One of my co-workers was generous to give me a box of maternity clothing.
Unfortunately not all of it fit or suited my style, however, I picked items that I liked and others that could be altered.
