Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Water Fresh Makeup Foundation: Review

This review of the Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Water Fresh Foundation, has been months in the works. Basically, because the shade I had received back in the Summer at the release media event was too light. So, I had to wait till Winter when my skin is lighter to give it a through review. For some reason whenever I get colour matched at beauty events I always end up with a shade lighter. Now, it's no fault of the expert makeup artists because I do find I'm hard to match. You can't tell but my skin is slightly different shades on my face. And, I've only had one facialist that noticed. No real reason why...just the way my skin is.

The Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Foundation (the original in the Double Wear family) is a favourite among makeup artists.  So, I was excited to try the Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Water Fresh version as it's lighter version and offers light to medium coverage plus it's oil-free.
Although oil-free, this foundation is enriched with watermelon, lychee seed and apple extracts for added moisture. Has a SPF of 30 and states it is a long wearing foundation.

Review: As stated above the shade I received was slightly too light (shade Dessert Beige) and even in the Winter when my skin is lighter I still found it too be a tad light. However, I gave it a try!
For reference my skin has been dry to combination. Normally, it's oily to combination however post baby has gone the opposite. As suggested by the makeup artist at the Estee Lauder media event, apply this foundation with your fingers. And layering is key!
Overall, this foundation is in fact very light weight and the coverage is light to medium. I like the finish; a satin slightly dewy finish. However, perhaps because my skin is drier than usual I find that it accentuates dry flakes. Either moisturise properly beforehand or apply a primer to get a flawless finish. For my type of skin at the moment I prefer the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup Foundation over this one.
