Now Boarding: Shoes {Travel Tuesday}

ready for boarding: shoes

One fashion item on my must-have list for work are comfortable shoes. As a flight attendant for the past five years I have compiled a list of my most comfortable shoe brands. The topic came up a few weeks ago on twitter. And I know comfortable shoes! Every flight attendant will have two pairs on her; one to walk to and from the plane (typically heels) and another for the actual flight a.k.a galley shoes.
At the airline I work for you can only wear black shoes; no buckles, no accessories, no mary janes, basically plain. When I do find a comfortable pair I typically buy a second pair as comfortable plain black shoes can be difficult to find. As for the brands that I typically shop for:

  • Rockport- my favourite is the adiPRENE by Adidas line. The shoe liner is like wearing an Adidas running shoe, super comfortable.
  • Clarks- I love Clarks casual line of shoes. And although casual they are stylish too. Typically, if I wear the uniform pant I won't bother with heels.
  • Naturalizer-are stylish and comfortable. Guess that's why in the 1940's advertising executive Leo Burnett dubbed Naturalizer "the shoe with the beautiful fit". Appropriately fitting today!

Do you wear a uniform at work? Or do you have a favourite comfortable shoe brand?
