Frequent Travel Essentials

As a flight attendant I regularly like to spy see what products passengers bring with them on-board. To be honest I am quite surprised on how many are ill prepared. Normally, business class passengers are the best prepared but seldom do I see a few essentials that any frequent passenger should carry. Aside from the obvious such as hand cream, facial water spray and a bottle of water (which you should try to buy atleast a litre after security) here are a few other picks.
Dry Shampoo: For layovers I seldom wash my hair. I normally wash my hair right before a flight and tie it up into a ponytail or bun. However, a little dry shampoo not only refreshes your hair but also adds a bit of "weight" to create the perfect updo. Klorane Laboratories Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk Natural Shade is an amazing dry shampoo with oat milk for light to dark brown hair. So, no more white flakes! (Other dry shampoos within their product line are available for different hair types) Available at drug stores across Canada. Retails $15.50
Electric Toothbrush: normally I'd bring a manual toothbrush but my husband swears by his Philips Sonicare toothbrush so I decided to try their newest addition the Philips Sonicare Essence+. Slim, lightweight, easy to carry and perfect for travel. This new brush is an affordable alternative vs. other electric toothbrush. Teeth feel clean and fresh afterwards, seriously doubt you'd go back to a manual toothbrush after using the Philips Sonicare Essence+. I rarely have to recharge on my layovers which is another +. Retails $39.99
Wipes: Facial wipes, baby wipes, basically I don't care but carry wipes. They're the easiest to carry and so practical. My long-time favourite is the Neutrogena All-in-One Makeup Remover Wipes, removes stubborn makeup well and affordable. But, these are perfect for clean ups! After an in-flight meal or use to clean your tray. So versatile. Retails $7.99

Balm: a balm that is an everything balm. Just launched this May, Cake Beauty Delectable Everything Balm is a natural multi-purpose sheer balm smooths and conditions. In a pump style tube, can be used on lips, cuticles and basically everywhere. Great for travel! Contains shea butter, coconut oil, cocoa butter and other great natural oils. No parabens, salt, sodium lauryl sulfate, phthalates, GMOs, mineral oil, gluten or triclosan. Retails $16
