August {not so} favourites

monthly {not so} favourites

Soap & Glory Fab Pore™ Hot Cloth Cleanser
Bought this with hopes that it would be similar to Liz Earle's Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, not so! This rich creamy cleanser actually made my skin irritated into little bumps. And didn't "melt away" my makeup as stated on packaging. I do love their packaging though & wording....

eos Lemon Drop with SPF 15 Lip Balm Sphere
I had read such great reviews on these little EOS lipbalms however didn't quite meet my expectations. Although moisturizing at first not long lasting & lips felt drier afterwards. Nice scent though & I'm not a fan of scented lip products.

Bright Here Bright Now™  The Soap And Glory Daily Muse
Another Soap & Glory disappointment! Was hoping this would make a great luminous moisturzier under makeup but felt like I had a film over my skin. Also, didn't like the orange-y scent.

L'Oréal Extra-Volume/Hydra-Collagen Mascara
A clumpy mess, the brush looks cheap & doesn't apply mascara on lashes evenly. Smudges & wouldn't purchase again.

Oilatum Cream | Dry Skin Cream- Oilatum Skin Care
In all fairness this cream is meant for eczema & itchy skin, however after watching youtube "beauty gurus" rave about it so much I had to have it. This was a thick cream (as expected) that I used on my face, wanted it for dehydrated days (when I travel) left me with puss-filled pimples on my forehead which I've never had not even as a teen....go figure that's all I need before my Wedding day!

  1. oh, that's too bad about oilatum. i definitely wanted to try it because of nic from pixiwoo's recommendation. i think i still might when i head to london next year because my skin does get very dry, itchy & sensitive in the winter.

  2. Dani-I warned you!! HA HA but I noticed on the net there is a repair face lotion version so I think that one would be a better option. Seriously, the cream is a BIG no!

  4. I heard about Oilatum from Pixiwoo as well, that is too bad it didn't work. I remember her saying that so many people were now using it that it was sold out all the time. I love reading your blog but sometimes I find your font a little too small in your posts :)

  5. Thanks Tracey! yes I heard about it from Pixiwoo:-) And its so hard to find it in the UK. I have a feeling I purchased the wrong version though.
And thanks for letting me know about the font, it big enough on my computer but perhaps shows up differently on others I will change that:-)

  6. Boo for products breaking you out! Guess everyone has different skin types - I keep reading raves about using pure Coconut oil on skin - especially to heal acne...um, that would be disastrous on MY skin. I had clear skin when I tried it - and it gave me painful red bumps! Luckily they went away after I stopped using the coconut oil!

I have the EOS balm in sweet mint - it's not THAT moisturising, but at least it doesn't make my lips peel (unlike Body Shop and Korres lip products). It's fun to use and smells good - my kids LOVE it. But Nivea Milk & Honey is still the best in my book :-)
