Dermaglow gets its own new glow factor {event}

Earlier this month I attended Dermaglow's re-launch event, the event was clean and streamlined to match their new packaging. As I always say, K.I.S.S (Keep It Simple Sister) and Dermaglow has! With skincare packaging becoming harder and harder to read Dermaglow hit the nail with their new look, easy to read and to the point. Now to the products, they redesigned their entire product line as well as introduced Dermaglow Essentials which focuses on a more simplified skincare routine. Dermaglow Essentials consists of six core items; four cleansers and two moisturizers. The Dermaglow Essentials line officially launches today, June 18, and available nation wide at all Shoppers Drug Marts and major drug stores September 2011.
Glad to see that the Dermaglow Foaming Cleanser is still part of their skincare line, love this foaming cleanser for the Summer. Check out past Dermaglow posts here!
Of course I haven't had the chance to try all the products but one in particular that stood out is Dermaglow Micellar Water-Based Cleanser, reminds me of Bioderma Sensibio H20 (another favourite makeup remover). Formulated with rose water, this cleanser is gentle and soothing! Perfect for hot, sweaty days, especially after a work out at the gym because no-rinsing is required. One pump on a cotton pad and swipe over your face, that's it! Simple right?

just a {tad} busy...

Within the last four years of blogging this is the first time I can officially write...I'm just too busy. Bloggers all have personal lives outside of the blogging realm and I can attest that all my free-time is taken up by blogging and attending beauty related events. Not complaining because this little "hobby" of writing has occupied my life for the last few years and I continue to love beauty and fashion. The fact is life happens! And with the wedding only four months away, a trip to Paris next month, the bridal shower in August, oh and finding a house to buy with my fiance...you get the picture. I can't commit to regular posting which has already been irregular these last few months. I do have a few posts that I want to share so I'll try to get those up....
And you can always check out bonitabride.blogspot.com, where I'll try to post a little bit more on the wedding planning.
kisses

May Beauty Favourites

M·A·C Studio Fix Powder in shade NC30
With the warm weather my skin tends to get oiler so the MAC Studio Fix dusted over my t-zone works wonderfully in controlling the oilies

Yes To Carrots C Me Blush Sunset Pink Lip Tint
Where has this lipbalm been all my life?? TARGET of course. Haven't seen this product in Canada yet (Yes to Carrots body products are available here in Canada but I've only seen the body line, really curious in trying the rest of their products). LOVE! This tinted lipbalm is so hydrating, lips are left so luscious. Really want to buy the rest of their shades. Sheer tint, peppermint scented, 95% organic, paraben-free, carmine-free, basically awesome product.

Yes To Carrots C Me Shine Flirty Pink Lip Gloss
Another fantastic product from Yes To Carrots! Sheer tint with high-gloss shine, non-sticky lipgloss that is paraben-free, carmine-free, and smells like peppermint.

Angelica Protective Lotion SPF15 | Angelica | L'OCCITANE en provence
A new product to the L'Occitane skincare line-up. Light, daytime moisturizer with SPF 15, skin is left hydrated but not oily. Not loving the scent but it fades!

M. Asam VINO GOLD Radiant Tinted Day Cream
I've had these product in my drawer for a while now and didn't like it all in the winter perhaps because my skin was too dry. I've been using this non-stop in May & love the finish,, my skin is currently combo due to weather.  Only one shade but blends well enough & is sheer that many skintones could get away with using this. Although listed as a cream, has a somewhat mattifying effect. In Canada available at Sears.

Sonia Kashuk's Makeup Super Sheer Liquid Tint
Another Target purchase, love this liquid cheek tint. A natural looking rosy cheek effect, like that you can layer. Doesn't feel heavy on skin.

Ombre Hair-the latest trend

Ombre hair has been the latest hair trend these past couple of months, easier to achieve in the Summer as hair tends to naturally lighten. What is it? A darker hair at the root which gradually lightens down the hair shaft, works best with highlighted hair. Or a look which looks like you need to touch-up the roots, which I'm on the fence about. Perhaps I'm in the minority here but I'm not loving the Ombre hair trend. To me it looks like greasy hair, no time for the hairsalon, and just plain lazy hair (in a bad way). There are examples of Ombre hair that do look great, mainly 1-2 shades lighter and placed as highlights.

Get Tinted {Summer Basics}

Cover FX Skin Tint Moisturizing Treatment & Tint SPF 30
A new favourite in shade M Light, just a hint of colour with an illuminating effect.

Stila cosmetics sheer color tinted moisturizer spf 15
Raved about this tinted moisturizer alot

Dermalogica - Sheer Tint Moisture SPF 15
Raved about this tooEspecially great for combination skin types, doesn't feel like you have anything on your skin

Avon Ideal Shade Tinted Moisturizer
Another raved about product

Bourjois Foundation 10 Hour Sleep Effect
A recent new purchase, although labelled as a foundation this product is sheer and hydrating enough whereas I'd consider it a light-weight tinted moisturizer. Better suited for oily to combination skin-types, water-based and just slight coverage.

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream
review posted here
Of all the tinted moisturizers in this list the Missha provides the most coverage, is buildable therefore youcan layer & offers the most SPF coverage
Of course there are countless other tinted moisturizers out there that I have yet to try;
Laura Mercier
Jemma Kidd
Just to name two that are on my wishlist, but the selection provided are fantastic choices. Take note that the colour selection in tinted moisturizers are not as extensive as foundations but the formulations are sheer enough that you can get away with a general shade. A fool proof makeup choice that provides for simple to use makeup for Summer.
What are your favourite tinted moisturizers? Do you switch up your foundation routine in the Summer?
